We'll see how it goes today when I tell them all the stuff I am not doing in the hospital, I think I'll end up with a non-compliant stamp on my chart. LOL. They love me, yeah, right.

It will be fine. You are the boss, they are the service provider. It is your body and your baby. I so wish I could go with you. They will be throwing us both out!

Okay, LOL....they don't like me. I refused the GBS test and the glucose tolerance test (for the second time!!!). No this woman did not stand in my face and tell me my baby could DIE if I didn't have the sugar test and went untreated for GD. I do not take kindly to being bullied at all or threatened at all!!! I calmly refused again and left.

They asked me to come back in a week, I made an appt. to come back in three weeks. I do not need to come in so you can tell me my baby is head down (I know that), measure my belly (I can do that...but I am measuring right on!), or listen to her HB, (she is moving around, I know she is fine.)

I am really not happy and may just skip the last appointment and go in to the hospital when I am in labor.

I am glad that all is going well with your baby. Sorry you are having such a hard time with the doctor's office.

I am proud of you for standing up for what you want!! (from someone who has issues in that area.)

I think you're doing the right thing. As long as things are going well, and you feel her moving often, then there is no reason for them to be so involved.

Wow! I didn't know that some staff get so nasty if you refuse things like GD tests. Good for you for sticking w/ what you feel is right. And I'm glad to hear that both you and baby are doing well.

Yeah, they went a little overboard, well a LOT overboard. She even went as far as to tell me watching my diet wasn't enough to control GD. Helloooooooo....if I took the test and it came back high thats exactly what they would tell me to do...watch my diet.

Did you know only 3-6% of all pregnancies are effected by GD anyway and the biggest single risk factor is having had GD in a previous pg which I have never had!!!!

And I have read that eating yogurt with the live bacteria is good as a preventative measure for GBS.

I am not stupid, I am just not going in there like "naw, I don't feel like your tests," I have educated reasoning behind my decisions.

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Even if you would have had GD with your previous pregnancies it doesn't mean you'd definately have it.. I had it with my first but not with the other 2.. not sure on this one yet. But yeah.. all they'd really tell you to do is watch what you eat and I thought I saw a post earlier where you said you were watching carbs anyway. I'd just smile and tell them to stuff it up the wazoo and skip on out of there (ok.. maybe not skip since you are 9 months pregnant but you get the idea). And hey.. now they already know you aren't going to be bullied into crap on delivery day, so they should be prepared for it... so really, YOU are just preparing THEM for what's to come.. and since you aren't the one getting paid here, I'd say that's awful nice of you!
