My mom liked the name I guess. I hate it and despise being called Jenny, I am NOT seven and I don't have pigtails. Call me Jen, Jenifer, Momma, mean nasty old woman...I don't care...just absolutely not, Jenny.
Jenifer....The Queen Bee
#12 is on the way
After three boys my mom said she just knew I was a boy and my name would have been Craig Thomas. Surprise! She got my name from some show (soap opera, maybe?) that had a Dr. named Courtney. But she felt guilty that it was so long and was afraid I wouldn't be able to spell it so she took out the 'u'.
I'm pretty offended that my mother didn't think I would ever be able to master the letter 'U'
Oh and my middle name is Kay after my aunt. Honestly, I'm not crazy about either name. I just don't think it suits me.
C...mom to A, C, E, L, I, and R
My parents had a pattern, brother #1 was named after dad's dad, #2 after mom's dad, #3 after dad's mom, and I was #4 so I was named after...you guessed it, my moms mom. I am from Holland though, so they will name you one thing and call you another, so my name is Elizabeth and I am called Linda (my other girl cousins that are Elizabeth are Els, Liesbeth, Ellen, Els, Bettina, Marlies, Ellie and just as an fyi, the family with only boys named their son Elbert).
My moms mom was Maas, and so there are 3 grandsons with that name, and it never struck me as odd, but I would never name my kid the same thing as my brother has named his, so this naming after someone thing runs deep.
