Like~diversity, I can walk to the grocery store.

Dislike~there are four liquor stores within walking distance, high crime rate, 4 strip clubs within a mile (or so), lots of drug activity

Like...quiet neighborhood...Can let the kids play outside and ride bikes in the road (when I'm out there)...we have a large yard in the front and a privacy fenced in yard in the back. The town is quiet and small (still big to me as we just moved from a town that only had 200 people to a town that has 2000)...I like that it has a few stores and a gas station...no more traveling 30 minutes to get groceries in a pinch (though I still do when I need to go to my favorite store....but there IS a couple stores here that will do)...

DISlike...that my parents are farther away...that I"m in town and not in the country....would eventually like to have a bigger house...but this one is bigger than our last....wish there wasn't a few "broken" things....but nothing that is terrible!

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

Like -- very familiar, school is the closest thing we can get to a tuition free private school because it is so small and we know all the teachers and faculty personally, family is all around me

Dislike -- gossip, sometimes everybody knowing everybody isn't always a good thing, no freaking place to shop in this town, the phrase "keeping up w/ the jones' " comes to mind when I think of this place.

Like.. It's a VERY small town.. virtually no crime.. somewhere I feel safe and feel like my family is safe. I also like that if you have to call 911 EMT and Police get here in less than 2 minutes literally because they are so close since in our town it's only like a mile to anywhere else in town LOL

Dislike.. We moved into this town.. weren't born here so we have always been looked at as outsiders even though we've been here for almost 5 years.

Like- we live in a tiny town (pop. about 600) in the middle of nowhere in just about the prettiest, cleanest place left in the U.S. Summers are gorgeous, homeschooling laws are very easy to comply with. It's the only place in the country where we could have afforded a home on 40 acres.

Dislike- the economy is very depressed here, so jobs are scarce and not very secure. The weather can be really nasty and depressing in the fall and winter. The bugs are horrible here! There is a lot more drug use/alchoholism here than I would have expected. Being a tiny town, gossip is the main way of sharing news and it is usually inaccurate. (Latest example- somebody asked me a few weeks ago what part of England I am from.. apparently people cannot identify my Okie/Southern accent and the rumor spread that I'm from England!?)

Like - how many SAHM's and families with 3+ kids there are, how I know the city so well (lived here my whole life), beautiful summers

Dislike - high cost of living means soooo few good shopping stores, long winters, far away from any other city (next closest city is 5 hours away)

I thought of a few more dislikes....

The economy here is garbage. LOL if you even think you can get hired at Mc'D's around here. Not happenin'. It's funny to see ads (like 12) in the help wanted section for experienced diswashers/waitresses/housekeepers. Aren't those usually ENTRY level??

Ohhh and did anyone see that the news (CNN, I think it was) rated Detroit as a top 10 worst city to live in in the WORLD?? Up there with Baghdad and Beirut? Now I am not actually inside the city limits, but close enough. I don't think it's THAT bad.

We live in a great place, small town, cities fairly close by, we like our community our school and our church.

the only thing that would make it better is if the summer was a bit longer, or if spring would come sooner, our trees arent' going to turn green for another 3 weeks or so, and the leaves go in September, so that's pretty short.

Likes~ another small town, small school, close knit kid oriented community and dh and his family have been here since the late 1600's lol seriously. So I am considered a local. Beautiful area .

dislikes~ too short warm season, I do wish it were longer. How the salt on the roads rusts the cars and dead cell phone areas.

~ Its the part of Victoria (Australia) dividing the city and the country, so we get the best of both words, hop on a train for 45mins (less if you gte an express one) and youre smack in the middle of the city, get on a bus for the same amount of time in the opposite direction and your in the country
~ Its a small town where everyone knows everyone
~ Very little commercialisation. We have no chain supermarkets/stores, everything is privately run
~ It is the most beautiful combination of bush and rainforest, I swear, there arent many place like it
~ Very low crime rate

Dislikes:
~ High bushfire risk area, weve been evacuated 4 summers in a row, the Country Fire Authority have made it mandatory for us to have a bushfire survival plan, so on our doors we have our evacuation plans, which have to be approved by the CFA, the direct number of our CFA station and the local police, the directions to local safe houses in case of bushfire, and every house must have a fire extinguisher and fire blankets.

Likes - It's where my mom grew up, (and thereofre my siblings and I too) so I like sharing that with my kids.

But is that all...???

Dislikes - $$$ We are way out of our league money wise. My neighbors are nice but almost everyone else at our local elementary school (there are 8 in town) has nice cars, the kids have nice everything, (iphones and ipod touches etc.) It makes my mediocre life seem ultra ghetto.
