I know this is probably a popular topic, but what pets do we have?

Anybody have a farm? Are farm animal pets? lol I should know this being from WI, but I don't.

Do you let your kids get animals if they ask? Do you get mad if they bring something home, like a goldfish from the fair or stray cat?

We have a lot of critters here. We recently got a blue heeler, and he is awesome. Anyone who thinks that herding dogs can't be JUST house/family dogs is mistaken. OK maybe they're not good with a single couple or something, but he's great here.
We also have 1 black cat who is almost 9 and...

2 savannah monitors
2 blackthroat monitors
2 argentine tegus
3 gators
1 russian tortoise
2 sulcata tortoises
1 bearded dragon
1 iguana
1 red eared slider (turtle)
26 boas
21 colonies of feeder roaches
and 1 colony of hissers

We take in rescue reptiles too, and were 'babysitting' a snake for a while this spring lol.

I would scream and cry if I ever entered your house rept-mom

We have one black and white cat, August. And two dogs, a german shepherd named Maddox and a golden lab name Brodhi (pronounced the same Brody).

I don't know what I would do if the kids unexpectedly brought home a pet. But if it was a snake I would lose my mind. I have an intense phobia of the things.

We have a dairy farm, so we have a lot of cows/calves, we have a bunch of barn cats, a Labradoodle dog Abby and our "pets" the horses, 8 of our own, 2 of our inlaws, and a foster pony (technically my brother's but they can't handle the thing).

We have a Chihuahua named Skeeter, I can't stand her....
I'm not much for pets, and I don't like little dogs... I had a choc lab named Daisy that I loved and she was a great pet but she got hit by a truck speeding down the road...

My kids know better than to bring home strays, it just doesn't happen....

I despise dogs, cats, furry things that run around my house and poop. Yuck.

Isaac has a Ball Python
Elijaah has a Bearded Dragon
Laliyaah has a Bunny (furry, but lives is a cage!!)

Naathaniel wants a Russian Tortoise for his bday in June.

We have pets and we have farm animals. The pets are one dog and two cats. The farm animals are two dairy goats and 17 laying hens. This year we are hoping to add a couple of feeder piglets and maybe some guinea hens or ducks.

The difference between a pet and a farm animal: the farm animals are expected to produce enough to make up for the cost of keeping them. That's why we will not keep horses although we have plenty of space and would love to- they're really just big, expensive pets. We've had too many bad experiences trying to take in strays, so it just doesn't happen anymore. The kids don't ask for pets because they know my answer- when they can afford it and take care of it all by themselves they can keep whatever pet they want.

We have three dogs: 2 Maltese pups and one German Shepherd senior. When we finally relocate to Arizona we will likely get a fish tank filled with fish and perhaps a persian kitten. I'm not big on cats but since the Maltese have joined our family it just seems right, you know? DH wants a guard dog for the yard but I am NOT in agreement with that. He's been very accommodating to dog additions so I guess I have to compromise on his dog additions too, huh?

I changed my mind, I hate dogs even more than I used to. Stupid mutt pooped on my brand new rug that I just got. He is banished to the kitchen until someone comes to get him.
