Help, I need some ideas on keeping a houseful of little kids busy on a rainy day! Or five days of rain in a row rather. We already hit up the library, it's the week before payday and I'm low on funds, and I'm tired to boot! So needless to say I need some staying at home activities. I figure we'll do playdough at some point....they have a new video to watch....we do have gymnastics this afternoon so at least we'll be out for a bit. But I still have a lot of time to fill for the next few days. My energy level stinks lately, I feel bad for the kiddos. They keep asking me if they can go back to their school (daycare) but nope, they are stuck with me these days. At least when it is nice we get outside a lot. This week is a bust though. I almost cried when dh walked out work this morning...where did our weekend go??

What about baking? Do you have stuff in the house already to do a few fun things in the kitchen?

Yeah, baking, is fun. Board games, coloring, crafts, put on music and dance, read.

I let them play in the rain when it is warm, but showers in MI in April can be cold. Brrrr.

Yeah it's cold still....bummer! I'll fess up and say I did a significant portion of a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle while the kids watched Nick Jr allll morning. I will try harder this afternoon. Baking sounds fun, we will have to do some of that for sure.

I get a weekly email from kaboose.com, they have super cute craft ideas for all ages. We do lots of baking, finger painting/water painting, playdoh play, filling the sink up with water and a bunch of kitchen utensils for them to play with (Aylie LOVES finding out which can sink/float).

Haha so do I, but that's why it's a treat on rainy (ok, it's more like snowy) days here.

our dog eats play doh, so do the twins

I throw raincoats and boots on them and let them splash-then bath when they get in
my kids have lots of free play time, surely they can find enough to do in 2200sq ft...
