My SO (well, we're working on it) has been laid off for over a year now. He does make some money on the side as a barber, but not enough.

He has been applying everywhere for jobs and is having absolutely NO luck. He has a lot of experience as a cook in full service restaurants so that has been his focus.

Well, he applied to a bar and grill last week that has waitresses wearing only g-strings and net body suits. Now, there is a high probability that he won't get this job either, just the sheer number of applicants to jobs here in Michigan is ridiculous. BUT...I said I wouldn't want him to work there, for one it is a BAR (liquor...not a good thing to be around for someone trying to get sober) and two...I just don't want him working around half, well, mostly naked women.

He thinks most women would just want there men to work anywhere at this point. So would you be upset if your DH was to work at this type of "establishment"?

Absolutely I'd be upset. To me, if there is a commitment there, looking is off-limits. And with that sort of temptation completely surrounding him day in and day out, he's going to look. Looking leads to lusting and THAT is a big no-no!

And it might even be a BIGGER deal about the alcohol. For argument's sake, that might be my focus of logic. LOL

But yeah. Absolutely I'd be upset.

(ppsssst... Does he have any night shift experience at all? My hubby is a Bakery Market Manager with Panera Bread - he's over the hiring for the entire local franchise. Panera is ALWAYS in need of bakers, and really they pay super decently - especially for food service. And there is room to move up. For my husband specifically, he says he can train a monkey to bake - he wants people who can handle the graveyard shift, usually around 10p to 6a. If he has any night experience at all, with his food service experience he'd be a shoo-in. )

^^ Sounds like he needs to apply at Panera.

Heck yeah I would be upset! That whole set up sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Working at a place full of temptation is like an invitation to disaster.

Maybe I should work at Panera...

I think your feelings are reasonable and he should look elsewhere.

Yeah I'd be uncomfortable with my hubby working in a place like that.
