I was a hairdresser. It wasn't my dream job, but dh and I started dating young and knew we didn't want to wait for that long to have kids, so I wanted to take something practical, that even if I didn't do anything with it outside of the house it would still be handy. I am glad I did it, now it's fun to make some extra money and I really like getting to know people that I otherwise wouldn't have gotten to know much beyond saying hello.
Being a mom of a bunch IS my dream job, it's really what I want to be doing.
Well I went to school to be a hairdresser, completed that and realized I hate to cut hair...dye it, perm it fine, but little pieces of hair stuck on my skin drove me crazy (have to say it saves me money now). Then I went to work as a night manager for Sav-ons in La, Calif. I enjoyed that job but then I got robbed at gun point and it lost it's appeal. I quit and we moved to Idaho were the hubby felt I should be a SAHM, I agreed also. I don't know what my "dream" job would be...I am still trying to figure that out LOL.
I am an RN, I worked in the OR full time before having Nolan, took a year off mat leave, then got a full time job teaching online from home, and also working casual in the OR. I really don't think these jobs could get any dreamier Being home full time with the kidlets is tough, often-but dh and I know its the best thing for our kids and our family, and it won't be forever.
Before I was a SAHM my full time job was an assistant director/toddler teacher in daycare. I LOVED that job. I think that will always be my dream job but can never have that EXACT position again. The business closed and it was the best group of co-workers anyone can ask for and the owner of the business is still a friend of mine.
My other dream job is SAHM. I really love it.
When I am done getting to stay home with my babies I hope to get a job nannying or open a very small daycare in my home. I have also thought owning a food truck would be an amazing job. Or a breakfast/lunch place. Or a place where you teach kids to cook......
