How have you introduced new meals to your kids? is it a successful experience? stressful? what has worked for you?
what rules do you have about them eating it? do they have to sit there until everyone has finished whether they eat anything or not? do they have to eat it for their next snack or meal if they don't eat it during the meal it's originally served?

the only one who is a big problem with new foods, is my oldest, the just turned four year old. And he's so skinny, that I can't even let him go to bed hungry, I have to give in and make him something else, or at least cereal. Sometime over the past 6 months, he's refused to try anything new, its really annoying. The three littles will still try it, and usually eat it, but not the oldest. I'm not sure really what to do, I won't be making him special foods for the rest of his life, I know that for sure.
My oldest is all about trying new things and that has seemed to set the bar for the others. They are willing to try but that doesn't mean they'll like it. I almost always serve sides with my new meals that I know the kids will like so if they don't eat the main dish they are still getting something good in their belly's and we are all still eating together.
We have a "no thank you bite" rule. They have to take one bite and say no thank you. I don't make them eat anymore than that if they don't want to. But like I said, they are pretty willing to taste test so it's never been a big deal.
