Not so long as they are in school, if they want a summer job they can have one, but during the school year I would rather have them studying the working.

I won't require it, it'll be up to them.
We live on a farm, so my older kids get put to work already when dh is especially busy.

We're a long ways from this, but I won't require it, however... if they want a car they'll have to buy it themselves and pay half their insurance. If they want to go out with friends, they'll have to earn the money. Etc.. you get the idea.

No. My parents always told us we could either go to school or get a job. We'll probably do the same thing. I always had summer jobs or I babysat for extra money but I appreciate the fact that I was able to get a good education which led to scholarships so it saved money in the long run.

No job allowed while they're in school. School comes first.

School comes first here too. However, my teen wanted to get a job - but no where I mean NO WHERE would hire her because she's not 18. It was ridiculous!! Even drug stores and supermarkets told her she couldn't even apply if she wasn't 18.

My 11 year old can't wait to have a job!

We've told the kids if they're in after school activities they don't need to have a job and will have access to a car etc. But if they turn into the lazy teen that comes home and sleeps and plays video games they will need a job to pay for car privliges.
