It's all relative. In the school systems my kids go to two is the norm, three kids and people make comments and four, well it blows people's minds. But then you talk to other women on here and they know many women with families of 5+ so, yes to me four is a large family. I can no longer drive a normal car with my whole family in it, we go through a gallon of milk a day, I can't get a normal hotel room because my family is too large...
I consider 4 large just because you can't fit them in a normal car anymore. Anything over 6 is REALLY large because then you can't fit in a normal van.
Here, it's normal to have 3+ kids. Usually 5 is when people think you have a large family.

To me 4 isn't that big, but I have 8 so as already mentioned it is all relative to what an individual person considers big, for some people 2 is a big family. I guess for the average family, 4 would be considered big.
I think 4 is barely large. When you say family of 6 people are like Wow! The other day I was applying for health insurance online and I had to put my youngest on a completely different form because the largest the online for could handle was a family of 5.
