I took all the decorations off the tree, so I could put them on myself, just the way I wanted. I have to get a tree for the kids so I can do this without feeling bad or controlling. (not that anyone notices).
LOL....totally the same way. This year, we got a real tree for the first time ever. So, I let the kids have our little artificial tree to decorate. They have been making ornaments. Paper chains and lots of other paper ornaments. My five year old is coloring whole sheets of loose leaf paper and sticking them in the tree....lol. Whatever, just hands off my tree.
This is the first year we have had two trees. Not because I care how my tree looks, but because the girls really wanted one in their room AND I found a free one AND it is the best incentive for keeping a room clean, ever. My eleven year old has cleaned her room and even SWEPT every day since we put it up. Merry Christmas to me
We haven't bought our real tree yet but we have mostly handmade decorations. I'm sure it isn't the prettiest tree but it is chock full of memories and love
