I have read that the there is a 4% to 18% chance of getting pregnant using the pull out method depending on how well you are using the method. I imagine the chance goes up if he isn't pulling out in time.

We have been using this method and I think my DH has pretty good self control. However yesterday It seemed as if I was having implantation bleeding. I am thinking I may pick up a dollar store test tonight but I'm also thinking I am freaking out for no reason.

So until I test tomorrow morning...anyone have any stories to tell?

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me back to the board and for helping me get through the past few days. Drum roll please.....

BFN----
Phew! Thank goodness. And AF showed up too. I thought I would be just a tiny bit sad, but I'm really not. I'm sure that things would have been just fine had it come up positive but the negtive works just fine for me too .

Learned a lot from this...
1) my AF is really wacky
2) we need better BC then just pulling out
3) I'm really happy with our family of 4 kids and I am officially done. I'm getting rid of all my baby stuff and moving on. I can't wait to do all the non-baby things. It's really weird how undecided I felt up until this possible "oops". I guess one little scare was all it took. I feel like DH can go get snipped tomorrow and I would hold the scissors and do it myself...that's how sure I am LOL!

One of my friends used that successfully for 14 years. Then one day... Well, let's just say she got the girl she always wanted.

Hope things go the way you want them!

LOL!

I got a dollar store test and it was BFN but it is so early. I think I am 8 dpo and with it being middle of the day urine I'm not ruling out a BFP.

I think I am pretty neutral at this point as to what I'm hoping for. I'd be happy either way.

Not here. That's our birth control method and so far no pregnancy here.

That's how we got ours
My cycles are not quite regular however.
This last time, the method seemed to work quite well, my youngest just turned three and when I got pregnant, the doc seems to think that I ovulated later than I should have, baby measured smaller etc. So, of course not guaranteed!

Thanks everyone for all your stories.

I am in disbelief that I could get pg like this. Afterall according to 2 infertility docs my Dh doesn't exactly have super sperm. So combining the sperm issue and him pulling out, is there really a chance I can be pregnant? It makes zero sense?

On the other hand I keep thinking this had to be implantation bleeding. It came at 7dpo and went away. It was just very light spotting. I had implantion bleeding w/ my 2nd and this one mimics it to the T.

I wish I could just sit back, wait and relax, but the 2ww has my mind going bananas.

Well, it only takes a drop
If there is anything there at the beginning when he first puts it in, thats all it takes. Sorry for my lack of good phrasing.

That is our method, and we have never gotten pregnant unless we wanted to, and when we did it only took once with each pregnancy, so you could say I am a fertile mertile, and still haven't gotten pregnant using this method.

We've never used withdrawal, but I know many women who conceived that way.

Afterall according to 2 infertility docs my Dh doesn't exactly have super sperm.

A man's sperm count/motility can change. LOTS of factors contribute to a man's fertility. Diet, medications, stress level, weight, exercise, work environment, etc - all can affect sperm production. If some of those things change, his reproductive health can change. The results of fertility tests for men aren't set in stone for life. The tests just reveal what his count/motility was at that particular time.

Keep us posted! Did you test yet?

I've heard it can be pretty reliable if timed correctly. I'm super fertile though. Got pg 4 times on various kinds of BC, did great with condoms until those 2 times when DH tried the pull and pray method. I got pg but unfortunately miscarried at 8 wks but because of that, dh realized we both wanted another one and now here I am 17wks pregnant. Good luck in the 2ww.

That's great that this scare gave you insight as to how you really feel. I think there is something to be said for waiting for the line on a test to let your feelings surface

phew!

lol I know how you feel about being done with baby stuff! I had baby fever a bit until my youngest turned 1 and we started leaving all the "not so fun" baby phases behind us.
Now that my house has been diaper-free for 3 months (first time in 10 years).....I couldn't be happier to be done!
