What do you do job wise and what does DH do?

Just curious. My Dh is a utility locator, typically with overtime he made amazing money but we just moved a year early b/c of other circumstances and now hes not getting overtime (which is fine when we were moving next summer but we really kind of needed it the next year) and we are losing about 60K a year roughly **** that hurts to say outloud. LOL Anyway I stay home, I homeschool our oldest. I was/am doing Arbonne on the side but with moving I haven't jumped back in the swing of things(hard with one vehicle, kids with practices etc) Im still contemplating this but also thinking of starting my own website for babygear/clothing etc b/c I get pretty decent deals at wholesale costs just not sure I really want to go that route. Id love to do something to make extra money I am just clueless on what I want to do or should do etc...anyway it got me thinking and wondering what other people do... especially those that have alot more to feed

Dh is welder and I'm a sahm. Just recently I decided to start training as a doula. I will hopefully attend my first workshop this summer. Long term goal, I would like to offer birth photography along with my doula services.

I'm also trying to talk dh into letting me go back to school (maybe next year or the year after). I've always had an interest in web development and web design.

My DH works at a Toyota/Honda/Subaru/Mazda shop. He's certified in Honda, but he switched to working on the used cars that they take in for trades or that they buy at auctions. They were thinking of sending him to be certified in Toyota too, but I haven't' heard anything about that lately. (The shop has a huge addition being built for Toyota/Scion, and he'll be in the new part anyway)

I'm just a SAHM

I am a SAHM.

DH started his own safety consulting business about 1.5 yrs ago. The first yr in business was really tough but things are coming along now. Funny how he wanted to go out on his own for yrs and rather than do it when we had no kids he waits until he has 4 kids and a stay at home wife to support.

I work for UPS, I load trucks.

Dh is a barber (works out of our house) and works at a grocery store. He has been cutting hair for 22 years but never got his license. So he is hoping to go to Barber school this year to get his license and then open his own shop.

I am a SAHM who did go to and graduate from cosmetology school. I discovered a little late that I HATE having peoples hair on me. It has worked out great budget wise cause I can do anything the kids want done to their hair.

My husband works for a Dairy company (nice to get free butter, if he was at their other plant we could get milk and sour cream. Ice cream and a few other things) he is their lead mechanic.

For the past 6 years my DH has worked at a warehouse that sends refrigerated and frozen foods to local grocery stores but that was just the job to get him through school getting his Master's degree. The beginning of April he will be the pastor of a small church in southern MI.

I'm a sahm.

I used to be a PA but stopped working after our 3rd baby arrived as there were no decent daycare facilities in the small town we were living in at the time. Now that we are living in Australia daycare is simply too expensive, so if I went back to work I would be using my salary to pay for daycare!

DH is an accountant. He studied for the first 10 years that we were together, first gaining a company secretarial qualification and then a chartered management accounting qualification. At the same time he was also working full time and life was happening (babies, moving house, changing jobs, etc.), which is why the two qualifications took so long to complete. I'm just glad it's finally all over and he is getting a decent salary that we can comfortably live on. Back in South Africa he was earning about half what he should have been and we scraped by each month.

Once DC4 is in primary school full time I'm going to try and find a job from 9am to 2pm (school hours) to help with our mortgage repayments, or we will still be paying off our house when we are 70!

DH is the night manager of the warehouse of our local Budweiser distributor. He hates it. We live in a small town though, so there aren't many jobs here. The lottery drawing is in 30 minutes or something like that .....

Dh is a self employed licensed builder and is also currently working under a Heating & cooling guy so that in 52 weeks or whatever it takes he can take the test and get his HVAC license.

I am a SAHM. I do all the 'house stuff' LOL, I also do the estimates/contracts etc for dh.

I forgot to add spring-fall DH works part time at a fish hatchery. He used to work there full time before he quit 4.5 years ago. The place was purchased by three new guys, so when they bought it they called up Rob to go back and fix everything He was also the only one with a chemical applicators license so the only one who could treat people's ponds, and make any money that way for the company. They are still barely holding their heads above water because they have no idea what's going on, and the three owners can't get along, and they wont get Rob what he needs supply and fish fry wise. He also does the web page for them.

My DH is a systems admin/database admin. He is also going to school for his BS in computer engineering. He makes good money, awful hours. But he works from home so there is some flexibility.

I am SAHM, doula, childbirth educator (well in training currently), and own a cloth diaper online store. I bring in no money right now as we just had our 4th baby so no doula'ing for me until baby is older!

I'm a tattoo artist and DW's a lawyer. I'm also finishing (will be done in MAY!!!!) my PhD. Our eldest at the start of the school year had to stand up in class and explain what her parents did for a living. She told the class that DW tells people why they're wrong and argues with them when they won't agree, and that I get to draw on people all day long. Though it kind of ruined the "don't draw on yoursel or friends with magic markers" and the "don't argue, comprimise" lessons for the day, her teacher still found the whole thing funny as heck.

Love reading what everyone does!

My dh is a union insulator. He works at a local power plant and gets awesome overtime pay several times a year - even though it's on the night shift. I am a reading interventionist at an elementary school. I help kids get up to reading level that are behind. Currently, going to school for another bachelor's degree in education. (Only need to be eligible to take the PRAXIS - teacher test - with my credits)

Shari, I'm going to ship Sydney to you, and you can ship her back when she's all caught up The teacher that she had last year did all the special training to be a reading specialist too, and I loved her, she was the one who helped us hold Sydney back a year too. She chose to move to a different school though

Ship away!!! I love helping kids with reading! I can get her up to grade level and beyond!! I am loving what I do, but I think the district will do away with reading interventionists in the next few years. That's why I want to teach a grade.
