because it's the 'crunchy' thing to do...

Anyone look at it this way?

I guess the thought is that you are recycling by purchasing secondhand clothes and I also read a comment saying that because the clothes have already been washed so many times there would be less chemicals to worry about.

No. I look at it as the cheaper thing to do.

I like 2nd hand clothes that are free I never heard of that chemical thing, but I'm not one that cares about chemicals that much. I love my harsh cleaning supplies and stuff lol

I just do it because of the cost factor. There is no way I could afford brand new clothes for 6 people!!!

I LOVE the name brand clothes at a fraction of the cost. I just got my baby 2 hanna anderson outfits for about $3 each.

I do it based on cost as well but I never thought about it as saving the environment. Makes me feel less cheap, lol!

The outlet center here is awesome. I get new stuff for cheap. I buy play clothes at Target when they're on clearance.

I'm a major clearance shopper, but I don't buy anything secondhand at all; I have an OCD about the possibility of fleas/lice/roaches/critter eggs etc etc being in or on secondhand items.

The secondhand places out here do not wash anything that they receive - it's expected that they received them washed, and they just stick them on hangers to sell; I just can't bring myself to buy anything because of it.

No.

I rarely buy anything secondhand. I always look out for deals, but also because we mostly generate our own hand me downs.
