What do you do about the car/van situation in your house. Our van can only hold 7 people max and I am worried that it wont be able to fit 5 kids if i need to have 3 in car seats. I know we could always upgrade to an 8 seater to solve that problem but if we end up with Multiples (it will be fertility treatments and already had multiples) or decided to have more, even an 8 seater wont work.

So wondering what you larger families do about the driving?

I have an old jeep that sits 5, DH has a sedan that seats 5.

Violet has a 2 door hatch that seats 4... 5 if you squeeze and we use public transport a fair bit.

So, to answer... we take 2 cars, haha.

We had a large van but it is very rare that all of us go anywhere and my older ones drive so we tend to take multiple vehicles on the odd occasions that everyone goes anywhere.

I have an 8 seat minivan and DH has a full size van that seats 9 (9th seat installed by old owner with 7 kids) Not sure what to do now that Im expecting #7. I really dont want to drive anything with 4 rows of seating. Seems like a pain with 6 still in car seats. But I dont know if our 9th seat is striclty legal.

I've only got five kids, all five in carseats right now.
We owned and just sold our 15pass van, now own a suburban and a dodge caravan (seats 7)

Amazon.com: Sunshine Kids Radian65 Convertible Car Seat - Granite: Baby

Check out these carseats...they are great for putting three in a row.

My four fit perfectly in my minivan....two in the middle row, two in the back. While it technically sits seven, I don't think another person would fit in that third row. It's just a smallish van.

We have two drivers for now. We have a Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac STS. DH has a Jeep Wrangler Sahara as his project car, and a Motorcycle(which he rides every day the weather is good). I don't want to drive anything bigger. We take two vehicles when we all go out and it's always worked out good that way.
