do you get any?

I get a ton of them in the past month I have recieved over 10 garbage bags of hand me down clothes. and 1 garbage bag of shoes. It is crazy how many clothes people have. I know my kiddos have a lot of clothes like over abundance but I have barely spent any money on their wardrobes. I just received 4 bags of boys clothes size 3t to 4t so awesome, yesterday.

I am just so thankful that people are so giving here.

I have been switching out the 3 lil girls summer clothes for their warmer clothes and forgot that I had a whole storage container of longsleeve shirts and sweaters now where to fit them hmmm.

I get so much its ridiculous, I end up having to pass a lot on to other people or thrift stores. I appreciate them, and love to get hand-me-downs, but sometimes we get too much.

Over the years I've had a few ladies who would give me hand me downs, but I lost touch with them. I donate all the outgrown stuff I have.

I always accept when given but I don't get them too much anymore. There is a local pro life agency that gives away clothes in really good shape from ages new born until age 5. We can go there once a week and get 5 outfits, sometimes snowsuits, or other items depending whats in stock.

Sometimes.

I usually have to ask on facebook or something like that to let folks know that I am in need. I go to a small church and there is only one other family with kids older than ours. They give, but a lot of the time, those clothes are pretty worn out and very close to the end of their life (ripping/holes/thinning/etc).

I have one pair of osh gosh jean short overalls (18 months) that were originally given to me for Isaac when he was little by my aunt, her two sons had worn them and now they have gone through my six older boys and will be ready for Canaan next summer! Eight boys (so far) and some 20 years and they are still in great shape!

I am the same as some of you where I get WAY too much. I seriously had 2 full 33 gallon garbage bags just of EXTRA size 10 boys stuff! For the little kids I usually have to ask, especially Bastian's size, and bottoms for RJ. Seems everyone that could hand down to me have kids in the same size.

I give away my stuff in CL because I hate no-shows that happen on free cycle, and I like to get rid of stuff immediately. I just throw sizes in bags and put them out by my tree.

yes, we have two moms who feed me their daughters' clothes for Elizabeth-she had 35 pairs of jeans in size 4 to choose from each day. I'm running low as I "only" have 21 in size 5.
Don't get hand me downs for any of the boys, though

We get handmedowns occassionaly. Doesn't seem like people we know or even people in our area give away their outgrown clothes anymore. Almost everyone in our community puts their kids clothes in yardsales.

When we had our first child, we were given handmedowns all the time. Now I'm lucky if we get anything 1x a year. Usually for the boys, occassionally for my DD. We were given a lot for Squeakers during my pregnancy.

We kind of generate our own. I got a huge bag of handmedowns in the summer, and it was all crap, didn't use any of them. My sister gives us her clothes, my older 2 fit her shirts, so that's cool, she's got pretty high standards clothing wise, so her hand me downs are awesome.

Was that for me? I'm up in Northern Alberta-the twins just moved into size 4 this week. Its tough right now, since the twins only ever want to wear the exact same thing, lol!

I got a lot from a few people for my son who is close to 2. Two diff girls were handing me stuff and it felt GOOD. lol.
Not so much anymore. These girls had baby stuff only because they had babies not long before.
I was VERY thankful for this stuff and it kept me from buying stuff myself. SAVED a lot of $$$.
Wish I knew someone around here with his size LOL.

We get lots for my oldest from my baby sister (she's 8, big gaps in my family!) and those get passed down for the younger girls, along with a few others that give for the girls occasionally. As the only boy, hand be downs for DS are scarce though.

I get a bunch of hand me downs for my boys, but not many for my daughter. It isn't a big deal though, because she takes pretty good care of her clothes so I don't have to buy her many anyway.

My sil give me hand me downs from her 10 year old for my 8 year old, and I keep passing down stuff through his younger brothers (or what makes it anyway!) And friend of mine gives hand me downs to my 6 year old.

I actually got some hand me downs for my two year old just yesterday!! I don't get many for him anymore, but I have received so many from him in the past, I don't think I'll ever have to buy clothes for him. I've been given clothes through 3T, and when we had him, Ryan was 4, so I have all of his hand me downs from age 4 and up.

I also have a friend who has a resale shop and every few months she goes through her inventory and clears out the stuff that didn't sell in a certain period of time. She gives it all to me to deal with. Most of it doesn't work for us, but I keep what we can use and donate the rest. She appreciates not having to haul the bags to donate them, and I appreciate what we get out of for free so it's a good arrangement for both of us!

Wow, you women are blessed!

We have only received hand me downs once for my youngest. Alot of the stuff wasn't used because the lady we got it from got too much from her inlaws so her daughter didn't even wear it. BUT, most of it, the seasons with sizes didn't match up.
