I have to write a "How to" paper (about 5 pages). My topic is "How to have family fun on a small budget" I have some ideas that I could write about. My instructor told me I have to be prepared with numerous suggestions.

So lets have some!!!

What do you all do that is low cost or free family entertainment? (Already have thought of movie night, game night, etc.)

Anything else???

Visiting state and national parks to hike and picnic, going to local events (parades, family days, etc.), church events, things at the library, and so on.

Some families are into geocaching. I've never tried it, but it's a thought.

Membership to the zoo. It gets you in to that zoo free and any reciprocal zoo half price.
State parks~ they have beaches and a fairly low cost "splash park"
Local esp. the elementary school playgrounds ( we're there already )
That's off the top of my head.
Oh , but wait there's more. Drive in movies. A lot cheaper than the reg. movie theater.

Yes, yearly memberships are much cheaper when you have a large family than buying tickets each time.

What about the beach? I think the rest of my ideas have been said.

Picnics at the park, we pack up our bball gear too. Love yearly memberships, cheaper than even one time purchasing tickets. We had a chalk art competition once in front of the house complete with prizes.

baking nights, kids have fun decorating the snacks, and used as school treats the following week.

Parks around here are great and have free splash pads, YMCA early years centres.
