I'm a fairly new mom to JM overall, but definitely new to this board. I was on the Parents boards all through my last pregnancy, but they seem to be very inactive over the last year or so.

I'm not sure what officially qualifies as a large family, but I think I'm pretty much in that realm.

I'm Christine (35), married for almost 13 years to my husband. We have 4 girls (15, 11, 10, 1), and I'm pregnant with our 5th child and due in April. We thought we were done at 4, but anyhow, here I am, and I think I can confidently say that we WILL be done with 5. I'm a full-time working mom.

Anyhow, I hope you'll have me here. I know that as mothers of multiple children, we have different issues that come up than those with 1-2 children.

Hello!
I worked up until I was pregnant with our 5th, then I quit work. Been home almost 5 years actually.

Will you find out what you are having this time?

I don't want to know what we're having this time, but ultimately, I'll probably leave it up to hubby. When he met me, I already came with the oldest, and he adopted her after we were married. He wanted to know with the 2nd and 3rd, but I had early ultrasounds with them, and since we only had 1 ultrasound each time, we never got to find out, which was okay by me because I like the surprise. Since the 4th was supposed to be our last, he really wanted to find out, and I gave in. It didn't matter, though. She didn't cooperate until about 1 week before I had her. After she was born, he said that he wished we would have waited to find out. I think, at that point, he would have, but our 3rd really wanted to know. I'm hoping that will mean he doesn't want to find out this time.

Thanks all for the welcome. I'll be sure to check out the other topic that was mentioned.

Welcome here. I have 5 girls too, they are 15,13,11,9 and 6.

We never found out with our first 4 what we were having, but did with our 5th and told everyone, so they could get over it. Dh and I have always been happy having girls but the comments got to be a bit much sometimes.

They certainly do. No one, other than medical professionals, but my husband knows that I'm even pregnant this time. Every time I have been pregnant from the 3rd one on, everyone assumes we are "trying" for the boy. Sure, he would like to have a boy, but is he going to be broken-hearted if it's another girl? No! We're not "trying" for anything but a healthy baby. I know boys are a big deal for some people, but I'm pretty happy with my girls. I would love a boy if I had one, but it's not a "need" that I have. I have 3 sisters so I don't really know anything about life with boys.
