This is nuts! I will be 40 weeks pregnant this Monday and I live right where the stupid storm is supposed to hit big time.. I am sooo upset. Doctor does not want me to go to hospital to induce. I am 40 years old with our 10th baby. I am 3 centimeters and 75% effaced. I was in labor and delivery last Monday with contractions every 3 minutes apart for almost the whole day and the contractions peetered out. Been having lots of contractions since then but not yet ready for hospital. Now with the storm coming, I am a diabetic on insulin this time and other issues.... Help
Update!! Still nothing going on. Well the reason I am worried is because this baby is sick and will need a nicu for awhile I am high risk and lots a complications. We just moved two weeks ago across the state and these new doctors don't want to follow my other doctors birth plans. She was supposed to be born at the latest 39 weeks. Otherwise yeah home is not the end of the world.

Just be prepared, have some stuff on hand just in case there is a need for it, but 911 will still work, so don't panic. As someone who had an accidental home birth...it's not that bad, your body knows what it needs to do.
