I'd really like to buy a kids dining table/chair set...but I'm not sure where to look?? Used would be great, as it'd probably be cheaper...

Suggestions?

We bought a conference table from the local community college when they had a sale . It is not the prettiest, far from it. But it seats 10, we just have fold out chairs as well. Cost us about $150, we bought the chairs new.

But number 9 will come out of his high chair soon, so our table won't fit him anymore, plus with another one on the way. My hubby is planning to make our next one. This one just is getting us through. We use it for eating, snacks, and school all day so we need something that crayon, marker, glue, syrup, anything can come off of.

I wish I knew where to get a bigger on as well. We have seen 8 seaters, but never a 12 person.

Good luck!

I would check craigs as well. It may take a while though to find what you are looking for.

We have a 12 seater - it's a pain in the rear but it served us well. The person we bought it from built it himself. It has 2 bench seats - a 3-seater and a 2-seater, then 3 individual typical chairs, then 4 corner seats. So when all the seats were around the table you were sort of blocked in unless you could slide your own seat backwards to get out. Our main problem was having a dining room big enough to put it in plus have room to manuever around it.

Well, I'm not really looking for a full sized table - I'm looking for a miniature "kids" size version of a "dining table" and a couple chairs. I really just want it for the kids play area, for their play kitchen. Sounds silly I guess. I figure they could do art stuff there, play house, etc. Pottery Barn has some, but I sure don't want to pay their prices.

Still looking at CL.

Do you have an Odd Lots, or something similar near you? They usually have pretty reasonably priced items, and I think I have seen kids' tables there before.

I would think you could build one if you are handy enough to be making all that other stuff

Our table can fit 10, Rob made it and it was maybe 250 to make? It's full sized obviously, so a small one could cost a bit less.

You're right, Repti! I don't know why I didn't think of that! We've got the tools, and I could probably find an old piece to refurbish or just make one from scratch. HA! Thanks!

Not sure if you've seen it, but this is our table. Rob found the pattern and then edited it a bit. I believe it was a large family dad that made the pattern too. We had the pieces cut mostly to length at home depot. Might as well ask for it when they do it for free!

why don't you browse some online furniture store? I am sure you will find a good store in your area. However, I don't know if this store is their in your area or not, but I prefer shopping from furniture zone & sleep shop. They have a wonderful selection of kids furniture.

I love that table set repti.mom!

We used to have one from target but it was a really cheap metal one. I have seen some really nice wooden ones from toys r us that are not to expensive.
