Christina, have they tried different types? Canellini beans and kidney beans go down really well in our house, black beans not so much.

I make my tater tot casserole with 2 lbs of hamburger browned and drained, 2 cans of french green beans, a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a little milk mixed together. Then I put that in a 9x13, top with the tater tots, bake according to the tater tot directions, and then top with cheese and bake again for a while.

The meal I made last night is pretty cheap, 2 boxes fettuccine noodles, 2 cans fett sauce, 1 lb bag of kale/spinach, and 2 bags of shrimp. Totals about $20 and is DEFINITELY enough to feed even larger families. Cook the spinach/kale add the shrimp and sauce heat them together, boil the noodles and top the noodles with the "sauce"
I add some bread on the side last night was rosemary bacon bread.
