So, confession: I didn't actually know that this board existed until about 10 seconds ago.

When I first came to JM, it was 2008 and I was pregnant with my first child. My ex-husband and I divorced not long after he was born so I just figured I was done. Single mom. One little boy. Awesome. No problem.

Anyway, here's the short version of how I went from a single mother of one to a married mother of MANY in a 2 bedroom apartment:

May 2011: Rekindled a romance with an ex-boyfriend (who is now my husband)
July 2012: Got engaged and moved into a two bedroom apartment together. One room for us, one room for my son Sawyer (who was 2 at this time).
2 Weeks Later: My fiance's two little children from his first marriage (5 and 3 at the time) were pretty much just unceremoniously dumped at my doorstep by his first wife. No clothes. No toys. Nothing. Just sad little faces that hadn't been getting enough attention We got bunk beds. No big deal.
1 Week After That: I found out I was pregnant. Seriously? What the...? Ok. Fine. We'll put a bassinet next to our bed. Whatever. It's fine.
October 2011: The hubs and I tied the knot.
April 2012: Sebastian is born.

So at this point, obviously... we're done having kids. Our lease is FINALLY up this October. We're going to move into a house at that point. My stepchildren live with us permanently with court supervised visits for their mom who has some serious issues. They're mine now. They live here. I'm raising them. They're wonderful. I wish I had given birth to them so I wouldn't have to share them with anyone. Baby is now 9 months old, SO happy, SO cute. Life is pretty perfect.

BUT WAIT.

No.

Life doesn't want to be perfect. Life wants to be ridiculous and stupid and hilarious.

So last night, I took a pregnancy test as a joke to prove to a girlfriend that no, I'm not pregnant... I just like sugar cookies THAT MUCH. But the joke was on me, because as it turns out we're expecting number 5!

SERIOUSLY???? THERE IS NO MORE ROOM FOR RANDOM BASSINETS. I'm just saying.

Anyway, we're fine. No one's crying about it. But it's a little scary. Especially the telling our families part... that really sucked. Because everyone has to make their little jerk face comments about it. I'm sure you know what I mean.

SO! Now I'm here. In the large families board. Because I have a large family... and I really do love it

Congrats on the new baby

There IS always room for one more. Even a 'small' 3 bedroom house would work, the kids just have to share rooms! Mine wouldn't want it any other way!

Oh wow! Congratulations! If it makes you feel better, my baby's crib is in the closet And I only have 4! You should totally google closet nurseries. It can help you get creative when you are running out of space.

Welcome! I'm pregnant with my 5th as well. We've had several family ask if this is it, and I keep saying I don't know. I don't think hubby can handle any more, but I don't feel like I'm ready to throw in the towel yet. We'll see how this labor goes...

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Luckily, the rooms we do have are HUGE. Especially the kid's room. In that room, I have a bunk bed with a trundle, so they each have their own bed. And I'm SO glad the whole closet nursery thing was mentioned... because I briefly commented about doing something like that to my mom earlier and she looked at me like I had lost my freaking mind.

"You can't put a baby in a closet. Isn't that illegal or something?"

I used to joke that #8 would have to sleep on the roof cause I had no clue where we were going to put her. Where there's a will there's a way, it just has a way of working itself out. Congrat's!

Ha! Then you're mom might as well call social services on over 1/2 of the families who live in downtown Atlanta! Haha. So many moms do closet nurseries here. When you have a family in a city house or apartment, every bit of square footage has to be used!

Look how cute they can be!

that first one is AWESOME!!!! I so wish I had a closet similar that would work for it LOL. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to transform my walk in... which is fine. I just need places for all my clothes
