quickest was 4 months, he was supplemented a lot though and I think he just found bottles to be less work. Longest was 16m, I thought she was never going to quit, but then one night she was done. I tried to go for a year with each of them, they had their own ideas.
I only bf 3. Becca was til about 8 months because I wanted to get pregnant again. Bastian was til 7? months because he stopped gaining weight and the ped wanted me to try formula during the day, and by that time he was sleeping 'through the night' so it just ended up all formula. Weston is 3.5 months and still doing good I think at least!
So how young was your quickest weaner? It would have to #7,
How about your must reluctant weaner? #4 (DD1) for sure!!! I was pregnant with DS4 (#5) and she was a 24hr nurser, she was like 15 months old?? and the only way I could get her off was to buy this absolutely horrid tasting polish type thing that I put on my nipples ( its usually used for thumb suckers ) and it worked the first time she tried to latch, she throw up and tried one more time a few hours later and never came back again...lool...although at the time I cried because of it all, I loook back now and laugh.
Good luck to you and breastfeeding...keep us posted on how it turns out...
#2 weaned at about 4-5 months, but that was because I was working full time and didn't have a good place to pump so my supply started dropping. She didn't have a problem. #4 weaned at probably 14 months or so. Hubby just looked at me one night and asked how long we were going to keep on (since I was pregnant and she was only nursing morning and night anyhow), and I just didn't offer it after that. She didn't complain.
#1 weaned at about 12 1/2 months. She was an all-the-time nurser, would not eat table food, would not eat baby food, etc. My parents volunteered to keep her for a weekend, and she weaned cold turkey. #3 weaned at about 9 months. She just decided she didn't want it any more when table food was available.
Mommy to Jasmine (17), Kirsten (14), Ana (12), Katie (3), Xavier (1), and Gunnar (born 10-15-14)
None of them were easy to wean. I stopped bf my first at 6 months because it was painful and I didn't have support. Second and third were 22 1/2 months. My youngest is 14 months and still going. The reason I weaned #2 and #3 were because I was pregnant with the next and was losing too much weight.
