I'm in Northern Alberta, and the amount we're charging for our rental house is more than we're paying on our acreage, so I said buy not rent. Depends on what you want, do you want a brand new huge house, or a fixer upper that you can afford now?

Dh wants a fixer upper, this house WAS a fixer upper, we fixed it up, paying rent.. and I feel this is our home... I dont know if I want to restart with a fixer upper but DH is set on it.and no, I dont want a brand new huge house but I wouldnt mind a house that I could plunk all my kids in rooms and go from there.

Not sure why my response didn't show up but I'll do it again.

We own our house. It's about 6 years (we've had it almost 4). Any house big enough to fit our family in, costs more to rent than we pay for mortgage. No way would we do that.

mommy2lilmen, nah, you wouldn't really want to live here. I am 15 minutes west of Detroit, MI.
