Ds3 5yo night before last threw up in his bed in the middle of the night. Laid around like a bump on the couch all day. We took them all to BIL for valentines day so dh and I could go out to dinner. ds threw up there while we were out. Only complaint was his tummy hurt.Today I take him in to the dr. he's rapid test strep neg. ???
Dr. said it's probably a virus and will go away on it's own. Have any of you experienced this?

It sounds like the stomach flu, it's been so erratic this year. We have been flu free for a while now and another one woke up its victim today.

My 3yo just had a bad cold and was throwing up because she refuses to properly blow her nose and snorts it all back and was gagging on the mucous. Threw up periodically for 2 days, it was awful. But no fever or strep, just the mucous irritating her.

And all of them had a stomach in January, rapid strep and flu swabs both negative, just had to keep them hydrated with clear liquids, popsicles and jello and give them gentle BRAT diet foods until they felt better. I did a ton of laundry but my 3yo finally learned to at least TRY to direct her sick into a toilet or bucket. The 4 1/2yo is so pathetic and sad when she's ill, she doesn't even lean forward when she gets sick, just sits there, opens her mouth and lets it get all over where ever she is. Such a disgusting mess.

I hope your little guy is feeling better soon and the other kids don't get it!

Poor thing....it does sound like a stomach virus and I hope he feels better ...

My youngest is fighting a fever. No throwing up and no one else is sick and praying it stays that way. I just dont push food when my kids are sick. I just remember to give lots of water and things like sf jello anything light and then when they are up to eating I do the brat type thing also. I just wish the flu season would hurry and pass.
