I've seen a go fund me on that. I think you can even just not do it. I know the funeral home business is a big racket now. Everything is expensive. My plan is cremation,No casket, no extras. I'm sorry. Are you having to foot the bill?

Very good question. If it were one of our churchmembers our church would just take care of it.

#1 got a scholarship award for Grade 10 for having an above 80 average worth $400. I am proud of her, of course I think she's smart, but she didn't get there without a lot of effort, she has worked for it.

They have fundraiser or go with cremation. Then there is the family pitching in.

Congrats on the scholarship!

I'm tired, and hungry.

No we don't have to foot the bill. I think they've made a decision as to what to so we're just backing away from it. They are not having a service. We've decided we'll grieve our own way here and let them be and grieve their way.

If I died I'd be buried in the backyard. Rob has a life insurance policy through work for 10,000. That would probably be gone with just the funeral. We have no money for retirement, Rob will never be able to retire, and he (or I) sure as hell can never afford to die.

beth, sounds like us, with the exception of the life insurance policy......

so we did not get the house. the realtor told her to accept us but she chose otherwise....it doesn't change my mood right now which is pretty much in the gutter. I am not going to look at all till at least January unless they (our current landlord) force the issue sooner.

That's very disappointing Terre, I hope you come across a great place soon.

I've almost washed all my windows, that's the excitement for today.

Washed windows is not only exciting, but quite an accomplishment.
Sorry for your loss.
As for funeral expenses...well I guess none of us can die..that's settled.
yay for scholarships.

We are going to carve pumpkins tonight. Tomorrow we are supposed to go buy the kids halloween costumes. Monday am dh is heading out of town for the trade show with the girls. So far so good, but wish them luck.

Well that has been a rough couple of weeks, this sickness thing has not stopped here!!

So the high fevers led to sore throats and coughs ....4 different visits to the pedi and one trip to the ER ....kids had everything from croup to ear infection !!

First off I didnt even know croup still around! that is not fun stuff. and they cant give meds for it either. Just good ole fashioned care. DD1 ( almost 7 yrs ) ended up with her first ever ear infection and is taking anitbiotics for that.

Im a little nervous because my newborn still hasnt gotten it thankfully but im still worried she will.

So nothing else new here just trying to get over the sickies!!

Dh is leaving tonight for some business so Im really praying everyone getts better and stays better while he is gone. Thinking today to take the kids out for a day of fun before he leaves and school starts again. Kids missed almost 2 weeks of school. and since they are not contagious anymore the doc wrote a letter stating the 2 older ones can return to school.

Hope everyone had/ is having a great weekend!

oh aly, how horrible. as the loss of our dear friend is so fresh in my mind, I can say without doubt that these types of accidents are really just awful. our friend was on a ten-speed bike, but getting hit by a car is still getting hit by a car. I will pray for a cleansing of your mind so you can sleep without horrible dreams tonight.

I've really had enough death for awhile. A friends mom also passed this morning. That's 3 deaths since Thursday. 2 we heard about, 1 we witnessed. Enough.

I hope they have huge success!

So #1 has applied to college. He needs to increase her act/sat scores to qualify for this scholarship she wants.
