We are considering a 15 passenger van but I worry about what it might do to our insurance rates? Anyone know?

Yep, 15 passenger van. I found some insurance companies wouldn't insure it because they said it was "for commercial use." I actually did tell one lady "not when you have ten kids" and she laughed.
It didn't make my insurance any different really, but MI insurance rates are the second highest in the country, so it was obscene before and after.
clouise likes this.

I do. I didn't have any problems insuring it and it only raised our rates because we put full coverage on it instead of liability.

We have a 12 passenger as well, and with the new baby that makes us a family of 12.....very tight in there

We are looking for a 15 passenger too. Our 12 is a chevy and has been awesome. When we got it we were expecting our 5th baby and thought we'd never fill it

We have a 15 pass, but a row is taken out so it only seats 12.
I don't think we had any problem insuring it, but we've been with the company for years and many vehicles. Also ours is very old 1998 Ford Club Wagon. Ins. is fairly cheap.

The size of the vehicle honestly doesn't make that much difference. It's the age, your driving record, where you live, and if the vehicle is leased or has a lien on it that makes it cost more.
