I only have one who just today finished up high school and he didn't receive any scholarships. More than likely he will be applying for financial aid and attending community college for criminal justice and then going to the police academy.
most of my kids are in school right now. my oldest did community college and took welding trade classes, which helped him get his overseas job. my second is at pepperdine university right now, interested in computers. my third did not go to college. my youngest is currently working on her bachelors in business so she can open a beauty salon. my DIL is almost done with her masters in international teaching and my SonIL is about to go back to school next month, wanting to open his own business eventually. they are all doing it on student loans and self pay.

My oldest didnt recieve a scholarship and has begin study in business ( that has changed a couple of times )
DS2 was a hair away from a basketball scholarship but is studying to be a dentist.
DS3 is also still in HS and not sure yet if he will get a scholarship but he is showing interest in computer graphics, computer science, he stillhas time but the next in line DD1 is also to young to get deeply worried about fields of study..grade K lol
One really nice thing is the choice our children also have of choosing to live in Saudi Arabia they will recieve a free college education if they choose. Then we get to spend the college money!!
My oldest got through High School but the skin of his teeth (learning disabilities and bi-polar).
The next child dropped out of high school, got her GED and attended community college, but because of some financial aid mix-ups that we are still trying to fix she hasn't been able to go back.
The next went to university and flunked out. He got a lot of financial aid and a few state based scholarships. Still quite a bit of it was out of pocket. He was going for Wildlife Management, but the job he has now actually makes more money they the field he had chosen so I don't see him going back. Wished he would though.
The 4th is in beauty school, also financial aid, and a state based scholarship.
