my friend jeanne (recently married that I went to Baltimore for), her daughter is preggers for the first time. she is about 16 -18 weeks along. she just got her results from the quad screening and it says she has a 1 in 250 chance of having a downs baby. is that a high chance? I don't really know much about these things. should they be worried? she is having a ultrasound next week to see if there are any clear markers for downs and then we will see after that.
planning for the wearing of the green already!!
I know several friends who have gotten those results, and none of them have had a baby with downs syndrome. But as a mother, how can you not worry? That's why I didn't do any of the screenings. I think the only way you can know for sure is an amnio.
I got the same results, had the level 3 or 4 ultrasound and stopped there since it didn't matter. Aiden was born healthy and fine. I opted out with Kailyn after doing a lot of research and learning it has a very high rate of being wrong.
