Yeah, I would. Of course you could take it the wrong way, but what good would that do you? I would just smile, say "thanks," and think "I DO look good."

Being me, no, I take it more like "wow, you have so many kids and aren't a big fat drooling idiot..."

That said, my mom says it to me all the time. I tell her its not really a compliment.

I hear that a lot. I don't look good. I'm fat. So I usually reply with "what should I look like?" And they describe what um said above. Think they mean well, but it is a shame they think that's what kids do to you.

I get told that often and every time I think in my head and what should I look like. I normally just say thanks.

I'd wonder why they were assessing my appearance. Maybe it depends on who said it and why? I'm not sure what that comment even means, really.

I have gray hair! just a few on each side, I'm waiting until I get nice visible streaks going. I can look like Elvyra. Or Rogue. I got my first gray hair a few years before #1 though. If it helps at all, I think our culture has a disgustingly skewed view of what "good" looks like no matter whether women have many children or no children. Like it's not healthy.

I take it as a compliment, anytime it's been said to me I'm sure it's intended as a compliment.

I believe it's meant to be a compliment, but like pp have mentioned, what exactly are we supposed to look like???
I have been dieting and tagging along with my friend to the gym on her membership (I hope to get my own for Christmas) I'm working on it. I hope by spring summer to have people react to my having had 6dc by thinking or wth saying B#$%^ I hate you.

People say this to me a lot. Most people assume I'm in my mid-early 20's. When they hear I have 4 kids, they say, "Oh wow! You look so young! You look great to have 4 kids!" I always just say, "They keep me young." Then I let them know that I'm thirty something, not twenty something, and they look all the more surprised. Haha.

I take it as a compliment. In my case, I think people also often think that I am much younger. I get the "you look too young to have all those kids!" I know they are fishing for my real age, so I usually don't give it to them just to be a brat.
