My kids are already starting the "I'm bored" rant. We have different projects planned for each day, but there needs to be some mommy down time too. I just want to sleep in, watch movies and sew. What do you do when your kids say they're bored?

I just saw a sign on Pinterest about this. It said "are you BORED?" And the bored went down the poster.then the b stood for something the I stood for something, etc. The ones I remember were read a book? Been outside? I will have to look it up. It was good. Go look for it.

They pretty much know not to tell me they are bored. They will either get the standard answer of "I'm not the entertainment committee," or I will find them something to clean.

Mine know that if they tell me that they're bored, I will find something boring for them to do. I will go out of my way to find something as boring as possible.

On a related note, did you know that we have 372 small tiles on the floor of our ensuite? That's now common knowledge in our family.

My kids are pretty good at entertaining themselves. They are big into legos right now, and will play that a long time. I have a few things planned to break up the summer...a week in VBS, the library reading program, an art camp.

Look into Vacation Bible Schools. When we were living in Mississippi one summer it was so hot, and I had a baby, and my husband worked all the time. I sent the older kids to three different vacation Bible schools, lol. I kept getting the flyers in the mail and signing them up. They had a blast, and it helped save my sanity.

Same here; there are TONS of cleaning projects for them to do. I rarely hear it.

Mine don't say it either, or they'll know their on the top of the list for the next little job I need done.

I don't really hear it when it's nice out though, they spend a lot of time outside.
