Im bad, we usually dont do them and the only reason we did one last year is because Amber-Rae came home with one from school However this year we are going to the pumpkin patch and will be getting some pumpkins...

I seriously was never like this. We use to do it every year but now every holiday relies on ME getting everything done and it just doesnt seem fun anymore...Just stressful! This is all because of dh hour and day changes...he leaves here at 2 in the afternoon and doesnt get home until after 1 in the morning and hes off only on Tuesdays...sucks big time!

We buy about 6-7 pumpkins and carve one at a time, every few days. We love to bake the seeds, light the pumpkin with a candle and turn off all the lights in the house, then curl up in front of the TV/pumpkin and watch family movies. Last year we watched Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin and did this, the kids loved it! And I just love the smell of a candle burning inside a pumpkin. Reminds me of my childhood!

Ours has a tendency to mold, whether we carve early or late..so we don't do much...I did see a pumpkin with a flower arrangement in it today..it wasn't carved, just the top cut out and it was attached to the side towards the top...it was pretty.

we will do ours a few days before halloween. If you put vaseline around the cut out parts it will last longer. If they still start to dry out you can soak them in water overnight to get a few more days out of them.
