Since I included bagels ect in my bread listing I will break it up here.... 1 bag of bagels 6 to a bag. one box of graham crackers, a box of Cheese crackers and I love Kashi's Tasty little Crackers. but it take me about 2 weeks to go through a bosx (they are MINE, lol) As for fruit--one bag of apples, 12 kiwi, bunch of grapes and a bunch of banannas. The gilrs don't really eat yogurt but DH takes some wiht him everyday so we buy 12 cups. Oh and animal crackers--got to have em.
Anhd the bane of my kitchen--snack food---way to mcuh because I think I am getting lazy and I just want them to have somehting they can grab. It is usually empty carb calories but but I am working on changing it.
1/2 peck = 5-6lbs or about 15 apples (but I look for the bags with the smallest apples...more apples that way).
I also get one big bag of grapes twice a month. Sometimes oranges, but most of the time they don't eat them. Bananas, they go in spurts. Sometimes they'll eat several pounds in a week, others they won't touch them.
Animal crackers & goldfish are bought about once a month (one big box of gold fish lasts a month, and Walmarts HUGE bag of animal crackers lasts about 3 weeks).
Depends. I don't always buy that stuff. This week I bought a 3 lb bag of granny smith apples on Saturday. They were gone by Thursday. So, next time I go to the store, I'll buy 2 bags. They ate a lot of bananas this time, too. I usually only buy a few for the little ones, but the bigger ones wanted them this time. I couldn't buy enough saltines to make it through the week if we had them all the time. Nobody has that kind of money. So, I buy them when I'm making a meatloaf or have soup planned for supper.
THis all depends what is in season. I have been buying around 1.5 kilos (~3lbs) of granny smith apples per week. We get bags of mangerines from my fil (they have their own trees) and my kids devour them in a few days. We will be bombarded with oranges soon! Bananas they will eat one week and leave them the next so I buy them occasionally. My kids eat cereal has a snack food so we go through about 2-3 boxes a week. If it's a cereal they really like and I rarely buy, it's gone in a day LOL.
