Hello,

I am 38 and the mother of 4 daughters 13, almost 12, 4.5 and 2.5. My husband has just given the "maybe" to start trying for #5. The last 2 were conceived through IUI with Clomid. My husband had a vasectomy reversal and has antibodies. I am 40-50 pounds overweight and am not sure if I am too fat and too old to have another. Can anyone relate to me or try to help me.

Thanks

Hello, I have four kids Tyler 14, Cody12, Sarah 4.5, Hailie2 on one more due in march. Iam 35 and overweight aboout 50 pounds. I haven't had much health problems, just my blood pressure goes up and down nothing too bad.Baby is doing fine. My afp test came back positive for down syndrome, but had some test done and everything looks fine so far. My doc is keeping a good eye on the baby. The only thing is the further i get the harder it is for me to get around to keep up the house work and not sleeping good.My stomach is big so it pulls on my back and hips makes them hurt when i sleep. I don't think you are too old beacuse i here of women having babies up in there 40's. As long as you are healthy and eat right and get some excersie you will be fine. Just beacuse you are overweight dosen't mean you are not healthy. If you eat right and excersise you can not gain alot of weight. I did with my two year old daughter. I only gained about 10 pounds. hope this helps a little.
thanks
kelly

Hi You are definitely not too old, I'm 42 and would love to have another baby, I had our last baby when I was 38. I agree with Kelly, being overweight is not the only reason for not having a baby. As long as you take care of yourself, eat right and exercise, you should be just fine. I know with my last pregnancy it was really hard trying to get around and taking care of the kids and house. I am overweight by 30 - 40 pounds so while we aren't 'preventing' I have started to watch what I eat (alittle easier now with the holidays past us) and will start to walk (I haven't been doing any kind of exercise other than housework!) with my youngest in a stroller. I hope everything works out for you << hugs >>

Kelly, when is your due date? Take care of yourself these last few months! The older kids help out?

Hello, I had an ultrasound done by the specialist for d/s to check for markings of d/s on the baby, which there was none. Then went back 3 weeks later to check his heart. they did an echo on his heart, check the blood flow, the chambers and all that stuff. Everything came back fine. I didn't want the amnio test becuase his heart is fine. It didn't matter if god gave me a child with special needs, so i didn't have that test. My doctors are keeping an extra special eye on the baby anyways. My due date is March 17th.
talk to you later
Kelly

How Funny!! 4girlsin5years, you are just like me!!! I thought I was one of the only nuts out here with 4 girls, let alone in 5 years!!! Fourgirls, I am with you here. I am 33 (you are not too old), and I still want more children' not to have a boy, just more. Fortunately, I don't suffer with weight, but DH goes back and forth about the timing...We'll see if DH agrees; he's not saying no, but he definitely wants to wait a bit. I'm pretty much ready, but we're not TTC right now. (We didn't have to TTC with any, thank God.)

I do want to have a baby in a different season...all four DDs are in the fall!!! I hope all goes well for you and your family!!

DD #1 7 yrs. old
DD #2 5.5 yrs. old
DD #3 3.5 yrs. old
DD #4 14 months old
