So I had read a little about them and again on the "might as well start off strong" line of thought, I decided to look to see if I could find one on the cheap on eBay. And I did. I just won an auction for one and got it for $50 including shipping.

I'm hoping I'm not going overboard since we've just barely started trying.

Anyone have any stories (hopefully good, but I'd be willing to take the bad too)?

I never used a fertility monitor, mostly because I could not afford it, otherwise I would have, I sometimes bought the cheap strips from ebay and used, I think they are great though, that way you know when to bd, just don't stress over it too much. You don't have pcos do you?? If you do sometimes it will not always register when you are o'ing, I have pcos, it's a pain.

PCOS hasn't been confirmed for me. About 3 1/2 years ago I discussed it with a doctor. She said it was a possibility but the blood tests she did either weren't conclusive or were just barely. So she put me on Metformin and I took it for a while... maybe about half a year or so. but then I got married and we moved and didn't still have insurance and we weren't trying for a baby at the time, so I quit taking it. She also put me on birth control, but since we weren't wanting a baby right then I continued to take that.

I haven't discussed it since then. I don't remember if I talked about it with the gyno I went to in August. I had been going to the health department for my paps but I have insurance again so I couldn't keep going to the Health Dept. I did talk with the gyno about wanting to TTC and the only thing she told me was to quit my BC 3 months before trying.

So in the back of my mind I still consider it a possibility/chance that I do have PCOS.

The expense was kind of daunting, but that's why I looked on eBay. There were a few that looked pretty good. The test sticks though to go with it, looks like my best bet there will be to order from early-pregnancy-tests.com This monitor I ordered didn't come with tests. Still WAY cheaper than buying it retail though.

Well my monitor came today. I had been holding off on ordering the test sticks just in case something happened and the monitor didn't come. But according to www.mymonthlycycles.com I'm not due to start my period until the 19th of Jan anyway and you can't start using the monitor in the middle of a cycle. So I still have time to order the test sticks.
