Hello and welcome! I'm Amber (26) married to Eric and mommy to Adam (2) w/ #2 due any time now.

When I was preg with my first, I was told that he was going to be around 8 1/2 lbs at birth when I went to my 34 or 36 week appt/US.... He was born 2 days before his due date and weighed 7lb3oz. The U/S can be off up to 2lbs in either direction. At 34 or 35 wks I had an U/S and they are guessing that this baby is going to be about 8-81/2 lbs as well.... There really is no defnite way of knowing, but 8lbs I've heard is starting to be around the norm..... My sister delivered a 9lb 6oz baby boy vaginally and all worked out fine! Please keep us posted!

I wouldn't worry about an 8 lb baby. That is very normal. I am one of 5 kids and 4 of the 5 of us were over 8 lbs (and 2 of us were over 10 lbs) - and all of us were delivered vaginally. I don't have experience yet with my own, but from everything I have seen 8 lbs isn't unusual at all.

I went in for an induction at 41 weeks, and delivered via c-section a 10lb 15oz baby girl and they had NO idea she'd be that big It's all good. She was perfectly healthy and to this day she is growing good, extremely tall but very skinny
