As you may know I had a lot of abdominal pain on New Year's Eve. Well, I got into my U/S to see what the problem was. They did not find anything, so it was just a fluke. BUT... I have a fatty liver. Which is common in overweight people over the age of 30, esp if they tend to eat lots of carbs. Symptoms are foggy headedness, tiredness, problems losing weight. This is closely related to diabetes. Basically I am far more susceptable to diabetes than I was before. The best treatment for this disease is losing weight. Left untreated things only get worse. What does your liver do? It cleans your blood, stores nutrients and helps in fat metabolism. Why does the liver become fatty? Because your liver sends fat around your body to be stored, but after a while fat starts to accumulate on your body organs.

Point being, I need to lose weight or suffer huge consequences but I cannot stop eating sugar/carbs.

What to do? I cannot still seem to be motivated.

Wow, I'm not sure what to say. I know how hard it is, but if you're not doing it for you, what about you're kids? Not only the fact that you are setting a bad example for them to follow in your footsteps, but what happens if the worst happens, you end up in a diabetic coma or even worse. Who's going to take care of that little one? Who's going to be the one to love and protect them no matter what? You're only given one body, there are no mulligans, we have to take care of it.

No more excuses Suzanne, you know better. Grab all of that junk and throw it out! No more next week, or just wait until these are gone. Perhaps a dietician would be a good help? I loved mine when I was pregnant. They could help you to come up with replacement ideas for you're cravings.

I'm here for you if you need it. You CAN do this!

Thanks. I recently switched doctors. I see a Naturopathic now. I am going in to see her, in one week, to set up a diet and exercise program. I have already started cutting back on my calories. Fortuntately, I am NOT diabetic YET.
