Anyone have a good recipe they have used? I saw one on the Mothering site and am really tempted to try it, but there was a lot of butter. I may have to sub apple sauce for half.

I think this would be a good follow up to my chocolate beet cake last week

Oooooo..... Those look really good, and really easy too! Did you use the butter or did you sub applesauce? I'm going to put that on my 'must try' list!!

I think i might just do the butter. It's not THAT much butter anyway. And right now we only have cherry applesauce in the house. I don't know how that would taste Actually, cherry and chocolate are pretty good together, hmmm...

BTW - Your new pictures of Zoe are adorable. She's such a doll and i love that dress!

I've made these before. I used honey and a little sugar instead of the agave since I didn't have any. I used 2 bananas, but think it would be better with a little banana and some pear or prune. I think with 2 bananas it gets a little too banana-ish. Besides that, they are really good.

* 15 ounces black beans, drained and rinsed
* 2 whole bananas
* ⅓ cup agave nectar
* ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
* 1 tbsp cinnamon
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* ¼ cup raw sugar (optional)
* ¼ cup instant oats
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease anf 8x8" pan and set aside. Combine all ingredients, except oats, in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth, scrapping sides as needed. Stir in the oats and pour batter into the pan. Bake approx 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing Chef's Note: if you find these brownies are too soft or too fudgey, add another 1/4 cup oats or flour.
