It was not very hard except for the fact that my mother (i was like 13 yo) tried to sneak meat in to my food and was 110% UNsupportive. I had no idea how to cook at all. I just made rice aroni every night with cubes of tofu in it!
I gave it up when I was 18 so I wouldn't have to deal with them. I made it easier on myself by giving it up certain meats at a time over a period of a year and not all at once. I gave up seafood first, then pork, then beef, then chicken, then fish.
Before I would officially give up a meat, I would have a "last meal".
Otherwise I haven't looked back.
