Not too shabby. The dough needs to be rolled thinner, but overall a good first attempt. and frosting would be good.

Those look good. We never eat pop tarts because they are filled with so much junk. Do you have a recipe for this?

I made up my own recipe, but based on a couple

homemade pop tarts | smitten kitchen
Homemade Healthy Poptarts | Heavenly Homemakers

i really did not want the dough to be too full of butter, so i used 1 container of plain Fage yogurt and 1/2 stick of butter melted and 1/2 cup of sour cream (low fat). The dough tasted great, but it was just too thick, imo. Smitten kitchen had a note about cooking the preserves with corn starch to prevent it from being too runny, should have followed that suit the brown sugar ones were not nearly as tasty as the strawberry jam ones. I did put a little sugar in the dough as well to sweeten it up. A nice confectioners sugar glaze would have been nice too, but DD woke from her nap
