Every time I go anywhere and they don't have any vegetarian food, I will ask what they have thats vegetarian. And I always have well you can have a salad. Like I want to eat a salad! Its not that I don't ever want one but for some reason people assume if you are vegetarian you like salads.

LOL, I hate that, I do love salad but when I go out for a meal I like to have something I usually dont make at home. My pet peeve where I live is that most of the places we go dont really do an awful lot of veggie food and the only thing on the menu is vegetable lasagne ( which I am not overly fond of at the best of times)
Whenever I paln to go to a new restaurant, before deciding on that restaurant (and if they don't have an on-line menu) I need to call to confirm they do indeed have vegetarian options so I don't waste my time. I have been told a number of times YES! we have salads and then they read off the few (if any) appetizers that are meatless. Now I rephrase it and ask what vegetarian entrees do you have. Unfortunately it seems that meatless entrees consist mailny of mushrooms and/or squash of some sort and my hubby & I detest both of these veggies. Luckily we like many varieteis of cuisine so even w/ the difficulty in finding a restaurant which accomodates vegetarians, we still mange to eat out frequently.
I know I know I know... We go through this as well! We have a fav chinese food place now that makes this great tofu stirfry! We go there everytime. But I a worried as we are moving to Texas and I will have to search for a good place all over again!

I love salad, BUT I can make that at home. AND for a whole lot cheeper I might add! DH and I don't go out often to eat for that reason. That and I'm allergic to bell peppers and brocolli and, well, it's hard to find veggie food that's not salad (as a main course) and doesn't have bell peppers or brocolli! We did find a mexican place however that has a mean veggie chilli, but mexican you kinda have to be in the mood for.
