I stopped eating meat about 5 years ago, but within the past year or two started eating seafood occasionally. I dont really miss eating meat, the very smell of it earlier in my pregnancy actually made me really sick, but the past few days I've been wondering if I should go back to eating it for a bit. I did have some cravings for it once the smell stopped making me sick but I never gave in to the cravings. However, I'm home visiting family until the second week of January, and the majority of the dishes my mother makes for dinner have meat with or in them. That leaves me eating only the vegetables and whatever else she cooks, and it leaves me still hungry. She does make dishes that are meatless, but most of them aren't, and I can't and won't complain because my mother, father and sister eat it and I don't want them to change their lifestyle just because of me; I refuse to ask that of them. I don't want to be left still hungry most of the night, but at the same time I can't find the heart to start eating meat again, and I'm caught debating. It would probably only be until I return back to NY with my boyfriend then I'd go back to being pescatarian, but even for a week and a half I feel guilty just thinking of eating meat again. I don't know what I should do :/
My parents do but my sister only eats lobster (bleh!) My mother just told me though that she's going to the grocery store Saturday and wants me to go with her so I'll be good after that Until then I have macaroni and some other things I can eat. I was just worried because I was afraid I wouldnt have much while I was here but I'll be good.
I would do what makes you comfortable. If you want to eat meat, then do so, but for me it would never be an option. There are easy meatless dishes you can make and eat over the course of your stay, like a huge pasta salad or something.
