Hi,

I'm 10 wks preg. and take 50 mg of SlowFe, as well as pre-natals with 30 mg iron per day. Is this enough? I'm worried I'll have anemia after the baby is born.

Thanks,
Michelle

when i got pregnant my dr wasn't concerned about me being vegetarian, didn't even tell me to take extra iron other than what was in my prenatal. he said "just keep eating how you're eating, i bet you eat better than most"..so i did. and when i got my iron test at 30 weeks or so, my level was 13.
i think if you're good with your prenatals and continue to take them after pregnancy especially if you're nursing, you'll be ok. and they'll test you for anemia before the baby is born anyway. good luck to you!

I was actually wondering that too... Maybe I should take a supplement on top of my prenatal?

i didn't take any extra iron during pregnancy, my doctor wasn't concerned because my diet was high in iron despite being vegetarian.
