everyone knows our food situation and is pretty accommodating. I generally ask ahead what is being served and plan accordingly. If I have to, I will bring food. As far as cake, i take off the colored frosting before she gets to it

My kids know that they are allowed to make their own choices about foods, if they choose to try meat, then thats their choice, so I leave it up to them for what they will say (that said, I dont have any real little ones anymore, I did used to be a bit more involved in their outside of the home eating, but theyre all of an age now where they can verbally express themselves.)

That said, only one of my kids has ever tried meat, it was Lux, she was curious at a friend's house and they had chicken. She absolutely hated it.

Ditto Meredith. Everyone knows we don't do meat and most people are more than accepting of that. If somebody saw one of my kids try to put meat in their mouth they would probably tell them no.

That said at some point I will let them make their own choice but I'm not sure when that will be. Lilly has asked for some ham that my mom was eating once so I told her that it was a dead pig. Do you still want to try? She said no. So far that's all I've had to do the two or three times she's asked.

Well, my son doesnt eat much anyway to start with, so right now, there is no issue there. When he is at a family/friend's house, he usually will only eat fries and carrots/broccoli or rice. He never touches anything else (hey, here too, picky picky dude). Anyway, once he is older, I will explain things to him. Right now, I am okay with what is being served to him though at my parents place (the most frequented outing lol)
