Hey everone. I am a seasoned member of JM, but knew to this board. My (almost) 21 month old, Alina, has hearing issues. They are still in the "trying to figure it out" stage.... but we do know that her ear drums are not moving as of now. She has an appointment with the ear/nose/throat doctor coming up... they are saying they will try tubes in her ears first and if that does not work, we may be looking at hearing aids.

My mom and I were talking about her today.... I never thought about it when she was little, but she never even cood.... my 3 month old is cooing up a storm now..... Anything Alina says is deep throated and unclear.

Oh hon, I hope they figure it out soon for you! It's strange how some kiddos with hearing loss don't coo and some do. Please keep us posted on how things go with the ENT!

Have you contacted a speech-language pathologist yet? I'm an SLP (and my son just "graduated" from speech services because he had apraxia issues) and there is a lot that can/should be done to check speech and language if you are dealing with some hearing issues.
