Time seems to fly by and creep by at the same time! I need to get on here and catch up! The little girlies are still doing great. Serenity is wearing clothes now. She is being prepared for an open air crib. The nurses are slowly turning back the heat in her isolette and letting her get used to holding her own temperature. She is still on a low flow canula for breathing, but it is set at room air most of the time and she has taken to pulling it away from her nose and putting it in her mouth! She weighs about 3lbs 4oz. Arianna was off of the ventilator for just over 48 hours, but had to be put back on it yesterday. I was disappointed that she didn't stay off , but the doctor assured us it is very normal for babies to take several tries to finally get off the ventilator for good. The doctor may give her steroids to help prepare her to be off of the ventilator. They are pretty confident that the next time they take her off it will be for good (I have my fingers and toes crossed). She is now on full feeds like her sister and is tolerating just fine so far. Both girls are getting fortifier added to the milk to give them extra calories - miracle grow for babies Arianna weighs 2lb 5oz, she's gained almost a whole pound since birth! The first two pictures are of Serenity, the next two are of Arianna, and the last two are my husband and I each holding one of the girls kangaroo style.

My friend had quadruplets and it took her little one several tries before she went off the vent - your sweet baby will be off of it soon. That will be so nice once Serenity is in a crib - you can hold her whenever you would like!

The NICU will be behind you soon enough - and then life will get really fun! My twins only had to spend 17 days in the NICU and have now been home for 11 weeks.

Your little girls are precious. Take care and get some rest while you can (seriously).

I am trying to rest when I can, but having to be attached to a machine (pumping) every two hours kind of disrupts the resting thing

Oh my gosh they are so precious! And that red hair like their daddy, so cute. I hope Arianna can come off the vent really soon.

It's definately worth it. DH tells me all the time "we have hungry babies to feed" whenever I get down about it, but at 2am when he gets to sleep and I have to trudge out to the livingroom, I don't like him very much! Of course when he gets up at 6am and I can go back to bed, he probably doesn't like me very much
