My mother was telling me the other day that my twin skin, the flabby, wrinkly, stretched-out skin over my belly, will go away eventually as skin will repair itself over time. Is this true?? I thought I was doomed to wear a one-piece forever.

hmmm. I don't know! I have it too. I feel pretty doomed as well! LOL. It's only been 5 months for me and I guess it looks better... idk. Doubt it really ever "goes away" ya know? Let me know if you find out!

It seems to with some people. I think it has to do with how elastic your skin is and hydrated. Mine is pretty elastic, but it does seem to have a lot of extra skin still and I've been on some medications that remove some of that elasticity from skin unfortunately. I'm pretty doomed. My stretch marks do seem to be disappearing which gives me hope!

Hopefully yours will snap back soon!

I think my not so pretty area will look much better in time. I am hoping some time at the gym will help.

I've seen some pictures of women years after their babies have been born and it was definately still there. I think it probably also has something to do with the amount of skin/stretching your belly did in the first place.

I have it still...almost 4 years after giving birth. I work out daily. I was told by 2 different plastic surgeons that a tummy tuck was the only way to restore my stomach muscles to their previous state.

3 weeks postpartem, and I don't think twin skin will be a problem! I do have some small red stretch marks below where my underwear is, but that's about it. I've been wearing a maternity belt since I've been out of the hospital (the belly skin sagging my incision was super painful, so I got it to hold the skin up), and it seems to have really helped my belly shrink back quickly.
