I was wondering how many sleepers, receiving blankets, burp cloths, bibs and things like that do you really need?

I know with my son i would have to change him sometimes three to four times a day if he spit up or was wet from a diaper. And i went through alot of burp cloths with feedings.

I was thinking at least 10-12 sleepers per twin so about 24 to start with?
10-12 Receiving Blankets?
8-10 Burp Cloths and bibs?Or should i get more?

I'm doing the twins' laundry ever 3rd day, they're 11 weeks right now. I use 2-3 outfits a day per twinx3 days=10 outfits in each size range. They just moved into 6 months clothes at 11 weeks. I use approx 2 receiving blankets per twin a day right now, and about 3 bibs per day per twin. Guess it depends on how often you want to do laundry, lol!
I'm using every 3 days:
12 sleepers/outfits
6 receiving blankets
18 bibs

They were in 0-3 month clothes for less than amonth, and 3-6 month clothes for another 4 weeks. I suspect they'll sit in 6 month clothes for awhile now.

I think you might want more burp cloths. I never had enough of those and I had like 15 of them. Life is easier when you don't run out of those, or have to wash them daily.

Do any of you have your babies wear sleep sacks to bed? If so how many did you buy in each size? I was planning to use them for the twins b/c they were so great with my dd. She still sleeps in one.

I just put the twins in Gro-Bags for the first time tonight, I only have two in this size, but I'm looking at buying two more used ones to accomodate for midnight pee-outs... I LOVED my sleepbags with my first son-and always made sure I had one spare each night.

I have 100+ Prefold diapers that I use as burp clothes (both have reflux and we've dealt with lots of spew) and I will tell you the more you have the better! Ive not run out but come close.

I only use my recieving blankets the first 3 or 4 weeks. I havent used one since. I am holding on to them just in case I need them in the winter tho.

We live in AZ so we dont typically put clothes on the babies. We dress them in cute onsies. I have tons and tons of them. Too many (I bought lots of large lots of baby clothes on Craigslist) and some never even got worn. But it was nice to have them becuase we went thru alot of them. Not so many now, but in the begining it was constant changing of clothes.

I have PJ's that are kind of like a dress with elastic at the bottom, is that the same thing as what your talking about?

I put Brianne in Halo sleep sacks. She has been wearing them since birth. The hospital I work for now uses Halo sleep sacks instead of blankets. You even get one to take home. I guess that would mean I get 2. I don't want to get too many b/c they are not cheap.

Receiving blankets I have tons of and never really used them.

As for sleepers - depends on what you are going to do. Mine for the first 2 weeks were swaddled and in a onesie the whole time. After that, they were in the swaddlemes in a onesie.

For later, I LOVE sleep sacks! I try to wait until they are on sale, buy 1 get one half off at BRU. Then I stock up.

I did use TONS of burp cloths.

I really didn't change the girls much. If they spit up a lot, yes, but that was rare. But every baby is different. It's better to have too much than not enough!

In the beginning I used my recieving blankets to swaddle the twins but now I use the Swaddlemes. As for burp cloths I think you can never have too many. We go through about 10 a day. Now that its warm the babies don't wear sleepers but for the couple of weeks thats all they wore. Now they're in onesies most of the time and Gracyn is still in NB size and Nathan is in 0-3.

I had always used the gerber cheapies until I got 5 dozen DSQ prefolds on CL and I now only use the gerbers when I am out of the DSQ's. I sewed ribbon on the edges of the prefolds to dress then up a bit.

I had way too many of everything looking back. I used those super amazing swaddling blankets and it was great.

It probably also depends on how much laundry you're willing to do.
