Well, they are definitely growing up. Cameron took his first steps this past Tuesday. Kiefer has been running around and learning that he can walk sideways and backwards as well as pivoting in place. He's getting very good with body control! Kiefer has 3 teeth (2 bottom, 1 top) now and is about to get another 2-3 top teeth any day now. Cameron still has his 2 bottom teeth, but I can see a couple of upper teeth making their way down.

Their faces are also starting to look more and more like little boy faces and less baby-like. Of course, they'll always look like babies to me! Kiefer's body is slimming down a bit. He eats really well so I know it's not him getting thinner cause of food. I can feel muscle on him developing. He's so active so I'm not surprised. Cameron is also starting to shape up with his body, but he's got a little ways to go before I feel as much muscle on him as I do on Kiefer. He's always been a bit more of a hefty baby. Not chunky, just hefty. He's saying Mama, Mommom, Mom (his favorite), Mommy, Dad, Dada, Daddat, Daddy (getting more popular with him). Kiefer is just learning to say Mom and Daddy. He's been saying occasionally Mama, and Dada.

Now the fun part. Kiefer is squirming like crazy on the changing table. It drives me bonkers!!! Cameron screams bloody murder like I'm about to torture him when I put him on the changing table. Don't know why . they are also fighting a lot now. Kiefer's thumb nail came off due to a little accident with a door. Cameron will often grab that finger and pull. That hurts Kiefer. Kiefer will take an object and bang Cameron in the face and or head with it. They will take things away from each other and fight over it...or just scream. If they can't work it out on their own, I just take it away and tell them the toy is going for time-out. I know they can't really understand what's happening, but I'm hoping they see this happening more often, they'll get used to seeing their toys being taken to time-out (they can still see their toys) and given back once they calm down. It already seems to be working a little bit. Toys also get taken away if they are used to hit each other. When it comes to a tug of war, I do try to help them work it out At this age, they need to know what is happening. Time out toys don't help long-term unless they understand why, but for now, it's just somethign for them to get used to so it's not as big of a surprise later when they can understand circumstances. Usually if Kiefer grabs from Cameron, I'll give the toy back to Cameron and give Kiefer a different similar toy to play with. That does sometimes help, but Kiefer is persistent usually with what he wants to play with. I'll sometimes offer Cameron another toy if Kiefer takes his away. That can help too. I do the same when Cameron is the toy thief. Usually, if I leave the room, they work it out on their own. I just listen for the more pained cries which means someone was hit, hurt, or he himself fell over and hurt himself.

My favorite part is listening to them play with each other happily. They do that most of the time which is great. They do play nicely and do enjoy each other's company. That's all I was hoping for.

I'm going to get out my camera again. Now that we have moved, the house is a mess, but I think I can get that thing out. Unfortunately, my computer broke, so I'll have to see if I can get those pictures on to another computer.
