We took the girls to their pediatrician appointment yesterday, but I don't count that as a first outing. DH and I went to Target this afternoon with them. Things went really well. Of course we picked a time shortly after they'd both eaten and crashed, so figured it wouldn't be a total fit fest.

We only got stopped by one person while we were there. A woman was in the baby aisle who was prego with identical girls and wanted to ask us a few questions. Everyone else stayed back. I wonder if we just look so bad that we're unapproachable at this point I noticed another woman who was there with her identical boys and the guy who checked us out told us he has identical brothers who are 8. So random. I didn't think you could possibly run into that many identicals in that short of a time.

cool! i am glad it went so well! i wonder what it will be like for us with twins and my 3 year old! it is amazing all the twin stories that come out of the woodwork. how are things going at home?

also...not to criticize but um, i noticed in your siggy that your girls haven't been born yet...says sept 13 rather than august... must be sleep deprivation!

i only noticed because 9/13 is my wedding anniversary and my DH's b-day so it caught my eye!

That's awesome! Good to take advantage of this "newborn" stage! I wish I would have done that more!! I never realized that it got worse before it got better! lol. I would say 1-3 months was the hardest time to leave the house. But I did have one really fussy baby....maybe if both were laid back I wouldn't have had as much of a problem? lol. The girls are 6 months and I finally feel like I can go places! Crazy! Ironically my first outing was Target too, and I got stopped every 2 seconds! lol.

Teehee that's great you had a good time with them on their first outing!

It's funny. when you are pregnant, it seems everyone around you is pregnant. When you have twins, it seems everyone who is a twin or has twins in their family or has twins of their own all of a sudden come out and you become surrounded by them. I too never knew how many people had twins until I took mine out shopping. All of a sudden I see like three people out with their fraternal twins. ...mostly g/b twins, but twins nonetheless. I imagine if I had identicals, I'd be bumping in to more identical twin families.

Things are going really well here. My parents are in and out and either they or my sister have been making meals for us. I'm finally getting the girls to tandom nurse, so that's helping. They don't tandom every time, but it's getting better.

I knew my signature was wrong. I was trying to update it yesterday or the day before (can't remember) when things went crazy around here. I hadn't gotten back to it yet until this morning. Not only was their birth date wrong, but the online ticker thing said the girls "is" so many weeks/days old. I figured I had more important things to deal with Lots of people let me know it was wrong so I finally changed it this morning.

Good job going out with them!!!

And so your life begins...never again will you be able to go with the twins and not hear a twin story/comment from somebody...

Glad your outing went well! I think our first outing with the three boys was to the Mall with DH-we're like a circus getting through the parking lot! Hasn't really changed much since then-go out LOTS while they're tiny, lol!
